Neat Desktop CNC Wire Bender

Last modified: February 25, 2024

Readers who have been with me for a while know that I have a particular fascination with unusual CNC machines. This intriguing CNC Wire Bender that I noticed on the Tormach Blog caught my attention and I simply had to share it:

Here's the full on demo...

The guts of the machine look something like this:

A person's hand reaches out to touch a complex electrical device with multiple wires and components.

Gears, steppers, and timing belts, oh my!

Pensa is a design consultancy, so the machine, web site, and software are very stylish:

Black rectangular device with silver border and perforated sides featuring circular dials, thin wire, and small blue light on a black background.

Looks more like a high dollar Hi Fi Tube Amp or something Apple would make than a CNC machine: cool!

The machine is very cool, and at $3000 on Kickstarter relatively affordable if you have a use for one.  I'm not real sure what I'd do with it except play.  I leave you with one of the art projects they did with it:

A black clock with thin wire hands and numbers, resembling a spider's web, against a plain white background.
