We’re all used to hustling harder.  Machinists often work a lot of hours to push parts out the door.

But is hustling even harder the way to get ahead?

It’s not, and the reason is that hustling harder gets you a one time benefit.  It doesn’t build for the long haul.  And the downside is it can burn you out and leave you less and less productive during all those long hours.
