Happy Thanksgiving from CNCCookbook!

Thanksgiving is probably my favorite holiday of the year.  Cooking is one of my two big passions outside CNC (the other being my band, The Blue Ocean Rockers, which plays the local dance club scene), and Thanksgiving lets me indulge that passion to its fullest.

I hope you cherish this time with family as much as I do.  I wanted to pass along a very special recipe that’s been handed down in my family.  It’s my grandmother’s recipe for Spicy Pumpkin pie and everyone who has ever tried it raves about it.  My grandmother was Swiss, and married to a Swiss baker, so she had some phenomenal dessert recipes.  This pumpkin pie is unfortunately one of the few that has survived.

It’s easy to make and wonderful to taste.  I hope you like it!

Ingredients

2/3 cup sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cinnimon
1/2tsp ginger
1/2 tsp cloves
1 cup pumpkin
3 eggs
1 2/3 to 1 1/2 cups scalded milk with 2 Tlbs butter

Preparation

Beat eggs
Add pumpkin ,sugar & spices and mix well
Add milk and butter
Pour in shell and bake at 400 for 10 minutes then 350 until done = until silver knife comes out clean

That’s all there is to it.  Easy to make!
